740 turbo sputters and dies randomly - Hall affect sensor 700

I've had my 740 turbo intercooled wagon for a little over a month now. Every now and then, it would sputter at random and then die. Now i'm lucky if i can get it to idle for 5 minutes without dying. I know it's the hall sensor on the bottom of the distributor, because how i juggle it determined how well the car runs. It's just handing there and not securely mounted like it should be. Even when i had it secure, i still had this issue. Do i need a new distributor? Is there a link that details how to remove it, because it looks like a pain in the ***. Also, should be weary of a junkyard distibutor, or just fork out the ~$200 for a used/rebuilt unit?

Thanks guys.
