Overdrive Problem 120-130

New with the 1969 model year was the B20 engine and a more robust overdrive unit (Laycock de Normanville type J). The type J is not wired via a relay. The rocker switch on the steering wheel pole simply connects current from the 25A fuse with the solenoid on the overdrive (via the inhibitor switch on the gearbox lid). The older type D overdrive (found on B16 and B18 cars) is wired via a relay.

Best,

Fredrik
