Rear wiper shorting out high mount light 200

Ok so heres the deal I have an 86 240 dont got leather. Well the problem I am having is that intermitently my rear wiper will cause my hight mount light not to work or short out temporarily an I have to run the wiper several times to get it to work,, Well this wouldnt be so bad but I live in a city an my license plate lights go out when this happens . an I live in swfl so my rear wiper is a necessity at times any help would be appreciated
