M40/M41 Assembly Advice... 120-130

In my quest to change the gaskets in my M41, I discovered that the main shaft has to come out to get one of the rear gaskets installed...so I dismantled the transmission last night. Now that I've cleaned all the gasket surfaces and even polished the gearbox case, I'm looking for tips and tricks for the reassembly. My main concern is the idler shaft and gear. Disassembly was pretty straight forward, but how I'm going to get it all back in place can't simply be the reverse of taking it apart (my old Jaguar manual says that all the time - reassembly is the opposite of what you did to take it apart - thanks...).

So if there are any tips or tricks, I'd love to hear them (aside from loading my garage cooler - and/or prayer).

By the way, everything was perfect inside (synchros were like new gears all fine, even the shafts have zero perceptable wear) - how strange.

Cheers,
Craig
