taillight repair: broken screw mounts 200 1989

Hi all,

I obtained a set of tailights from a recent 240. Original Cibie assemblies in cosmetically excellent condition.

I am planning on repacing my 3 year old chinese assemblies, they still look nice and are holding relatively well except for some lens warping which makes me worried about any more longevity.

Anyhow these cibiest look excellent, but the bottom screws (rear) are rusted off on both lights (the car I took them off was rotted out). There is maybe one millimeter of screw still left in there on each.

Anyone have any ideas on how to "repair" this problem? I was thinking of dremelling out the old screw but I cannot figure a good way to hold new ones in there and properly withstand the tension when mounted.

thanks,
