trunk lock 900 1993

Hello Brickboarders!

My newly acquired 944 came with only one key. My son used that key to manually lock the trunk. Well, the same key that locked the trunk will not unlock it. I assume that it is the Valet key. We went to the local dealer and had new master key made using the VIN. While it will unlock the doors and start the car, it is new so is very tight in the ignition switch, as in it makes the switch feel broken. Also as a side benefit, it will not open the trunk either.

What are my options? is there a way to get the trunk open? I can't reach far enough from the hole in the rear seat to do anything with the latch.
