old style distributor vs new style distributor 200

Hello!

I'm having some serious troubles with my '79 244Gl. Somewhere around 2-2,5K revs it starts to... (sorry, don't know the right word). It seems like short cut offs of electricity... I changed the distributor plastic parts (rotor, housing), changed the plugs cord.... The other day I removed the plastic protection under the rotor and played with grind paper. It was OK for few days. Now it's all the same thing again.
I do have some newer style distributors at hand but don't know how to wire the thing right since the original dist. has only got one wire going out and the newer ones have two wires (green and brown). Can anybody help me with this please!!
