Weird steering problem 200 1976

The bias, or center point, of the older racks is adjustable. I'm afraid I don't remember exactly how, I did it half a dozen years ago on my old '81 but not since... As I recall the adjustment is made beneath a plate that's held on with two bolts on the rack, below the valve body, in line with the steering column. Sorry I can't offer more specifics. Also the other posts do make a point, it's a potential danger - and after 30 years there's a good chance the seals are wearing out.
