Ringing and brake lights... 1987

It was one of those things in the back of my mind. I actually think they deleted it, or never included it in the 7 series. I came across it just the other day, or came across the lack-of-a-chime situation.

I've rarely had 2 brake lights out on a car I own. The only time I have, on these cars, it was the bulb-out relay on an 88 744GLE, and a brake light switch on a 91 244.

This time, it was the same 88 744 back for a visit. We sold it to a friend. Both taillight brake lights were out, 3rd light worked. Anyway, no chime or other warning, and no bulb failure light. OK, so I'm about to change the relay, without even looking at the taillights.

But I decide to check to be sure- BOTH lights full of water, both bulbs milky white and cracked, both brake light filaments failed but parking lights working. Crazy? I thought so.

Anyway, no chime I think in the 7 series. The door open/key in chime still works fine on that car.
