Air Conditioner Service Valve 1989 245 SW 200 1989

Help me out here, people. Every summer, I have been recharging my AC the hard way, reaching up and under to attach the hose to the compressor, and collecting my fair share of abrasions on my right hand. I've searched the forum before I posted here, and I've seen a few references to the service valve being right there on the condensor, you know, right next to the radiator. Would this, indeed be where I can recharge my system without tons-o-aggravation?

Thanks...!
