Importance of aluminum brace under oil pan? 900 1993

I was changing the oil in my 940 earlier today, and noticed the oil pan was more visible than ususal. I could have sworn there was some kind of brace there. Sure enough, I checked my last service record from a couple of months ago and it seems they removed it to tighten the oil pan bolts and never put it back!

Is this is an important part? I've driven 4,000 miles since the service and no problems. I hadn't been under the car for a while until today, and my memory is a bit rusty - I can't for the life of me remember exactly where it attaches. The service was done on a road trip 300 miles away, so if I replace this thing I think I'm going to have to go to a junkyard; a point of reference in advance would be very helpful. If anyone has any pictures of this part or area, I'd appreciate it!
