Replaced caliper - want to bleed 200 1985

The car should not be running when bleeding the system.

The danger is that the master cylinder piston will travel deeper into the bore than usual. This new territory is often an area where rust or crud has built up and you risk damaging the seal on the piston.

It is easy to install a schrader valve on an extra master cylinder cap and use a hand bicycle pump to apply low pressure to the master cylinder. When you open the bleeder valve the pressure will force the fluid towards the open bleeder valve and expel the air.

Install the valve stem in the appropriate sized hole cut into the cap.
