Odometer Repair Questions / Help 200

Hello. 1986 sedan stick shift. On way home tonight my tripmeter & odometer both stopped working. Speedometer continued to work fine. K10042. So took it apart and yes indeed little tiny gear had broken teeth. Researched here on Brickboard and found www.odometerparts.com as source for replacement gear. They list 2x gears for Volvo. a 25 tooth & a 15 tooth. I counted teeth and accounting for broken ones have 25 tooth gear. Part # 10-006. Is this the correct part ? Foto on their web site showed it to be black whereas mine is tan colored.Price Is $28.00 !!! Can I get this part from Volvo dealer ?? Also I am not sure which way to put this little gear back. One side has spacer and the other side is flat. Which way should it go ?? Unfortunately when I took it off I forgot to take note. Any other info or tips or advice on this repair would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
