The 122 green Volvo manual has some rather vague instructions for doing this.
Probably if you go into the archives you can find some of the past posts that
I and others have put up over the years to supplement and explain how this
is done, at least for the windshield. The important thing is the size of the
cord you put into the groove to hold it open.

BTW early gaskets except the aluminum trim, later gaskets accept it.
So you have to have a later gasket.
