'90 760T wants to stall - please read

Yesterday, my 760 suddenly wouldn't run past 10 or 15 mph. As soon as I gave it more throttle the car would stumble and stall. Limped home at 10 or 15 mph.

Had the car towed to the shop. Naturally, two or three test drives failed to duplicate the problem. The car runs fine now.

My mechanic suggested the fuel pump(s) were on their way out. I'm hesitating to replace them. Big $$$.

Is it possible there was junk in the fuel system that somehow became dislodged when tilting the car for towing? Other thoughts?

Thank you.

Perry
