switching distributors 200 1982

My car seems to be going into convulsions at times when I accelerate--it is as if it is cutting out. Only when driving, though, not when reving in neutral. It is like it is skipping a couple beats--it feels like the ignition system. I have recently replaced: intank pump, primary pump, fuel filter and fuel pump relay. So now looking toward the ignition system. Plugs and wires all seem to be good. Possible wire breakdown at small harness through firewall to computer. It is a C.I.S. system with a Chrysler style distributor. Some of the foil in the distributor was torn. I want to change to a bosch distributor. Do I have to change anything else or can I just change the distributor? Any help will be appreciated--Thanks!
