THE GOOD
My 1st 240 turned over 200,000 miles. The only work done has been normal maintenance and the computer repair (thanks to Art B.!!).
THE BAD
My daughter was hit on the drivers side front in my 2nd 240. The impact just missed the tire, moved the engine/frame over 1-1/2 feet and bent the transmisson tunnel. No injuries, gotta to love the car. The tow truck driver left the car in my driveway quite a distance down hill from my garage. My problem was to get it to the garage and salvage what I could. I thought I would try to get her going one last time. I cut the belts, used duct tape to put the distributor cap back together(power steering pump was smashed into the dist) and cut the hose open to the AMM. Raditor was not leaking! By this time quite a crowd of neighbors had gathered offering to tow it up the drive and advise me I was wasting my time. Also, the battery was pinched in metal and had one cell drained. After a small side bet I got in, started it up and drove to the garage. I think there might be a shortage of 240's for sale in my area because a few neighbors stated "I'm getting one". I have a couple lined up to look at this weekend before the rush.
