Harbor Freight Excess Cargo Carrier 200 1985

Finally got around to installing the trailer hitch and the Harbor Freight excess cargo carrier I bought last year. First, I installed a set of heavy duty rear prings from FCP Groton. I really like the ride, especially through dips at intersections (no kidding).

The cargo carrier was on sale at $30 (normally $40). The only problem was it was a bit low and would scrape on the driveway entrance. The part that plugs into the hitch was a straight piece of 2" square tube. I modified it by putting in a dogleg that raises the carrier a little over 4". This seems to be plenty for ground clearance and not so high I can't open the tailgate when the carrier is empty.

Its great for hauling things like my air compressor. The compressor is too high for the inside of the wagon and leaks oil when laid on it's side.
