Keeping My Cool 200 1990

Wow, there are lots of messages concerning AC this week! I do not see one specific to my problem though. When I bought this 93 240, it had been repaired in the front and the AC from the firewall out had been eliminated. I ordered everything I could from a yard in Minnesota, added a new condersor and reciever dryer, and charged it up. At idle it will blow cold air, but at about 3000+ rpm,the belt will squeal, and the compressor wants to lock up. I have tried backing down the charge, but it will blow warm before this condition will change. Am I right in suspecting the expansion valve? Where is it located? How big a job is it to change? Thanks
Poorgie
