Does anyone have any experience and tips on swapping components between different glove boxes?

It looks like I could push out the two hinge pins to swap the complete door. True?

Or, how can I detach the upper door cover panel without damaging something?

The one in my car is torn up at the attachment screw holes, and will one day likely drop open and spill the drink that is in a cup holder that hangs from the glove box door. So it's time to replace the glove box.

I have a sound spare, but the upper face panel is the wrong color. So I want to either swap my current door onto the replacement glove box, or swap in the upper panel from my current one.
