Inquire at an electrical supply company for sleeving for that long cable run, and also cable clamps.

You want silicone/fiberglass tubing or sleeving to put over the cable for all of it's exposed run, definitely if any of it is under the car. The cable clamps I would prefer may be sold for hydraulic lines, or you could pirate them off a bunch of junkyard 240s: steel or stainless steel loop type clamps with rubber inserts to cushion the cables. You'll find two under the crank pulley of any 240, holding the harness. We use them on equipment where I work to secure hydraulic lines and cables. Nice and professional, very tough.

Good luck with it! By the way, BMW does this on some of their cars; if you know someone with one, check out their installation.
