Hi

Yesterday I did some work on rear brakes. I followed the FAQ and I got stuck at at this part:

"... open the bleeder and at the same time squeeze the pistons back using either adjustable pliers or a c-clamp. Use an old steel shim or tape on the jaws to prevent boot tears"

I have a 6 inch C-clamp but I just couldn't get either side of the clamp to fit in the space between the rotor and the piston. What size are you guys using? I tried using pliers but I didn't have on big enough for the jaws to wrap around the caliper. Which is easier?

"... If you have a tough time squeezing the piston back, place a wood 2x4 in the caliper space and use a pry bar to lever the piston back"

I tried the 2nd method as per FAQ but got stuck as my pry bar was too long to lever it in. I was also afraid it'll damage or dent the rotors.

I think either my tools are not correct or I'm missing something obvious here. Appreciate any advice.
