Stalling 200 1990

Yep, the shop is full of it. There's no issue like that with these cars.

I think the AMM is bad or the electrical connection to it is bad; however it could be a few other things. A fuel pressure test might be in order to ascertain that it's not losing pressure and starving the engine.

There could be serious vacuum leaks, including leaks from the intake manifold gasket. The AMM-to-throttle hose could have holes in it.

The fuel or air filters could be really filthy. Ignition components could be old. Bad wires, fouled plugs, crusty dist cap and rotor?

The connection to the 25A fuse holder could be bad, in the engine compartment behind battery. $3 from the dealer, just replace it to be sure. That's main power to FI computer and pumps, so it's kinda important. I think 90 is the last year for it.

Try a new fuel pump relay yet? How about a crank sensor? That usually causes a stall, but not a loss of power exactly.

Another bad problem that affects 90's is defective fuel system computers. If that computer is original, it can be the source of the problem. Best bet would be to try it in a different car of the same vintage, and see if it causes the problem.

As for high idle, they may have not connected the throttle switch or it's not fully closing- the throttle linkage is a little turnbuckle that can be adjusted.

Good luck with it!
