1979 Volvo 264GL 200 1979

Hello again, It's June 2006! I haven't made a post about my car in a long time.

Here are some basic details about it. I got it on Seattle's Craigslist page for $200.

My 1979 264 GL was made in Gothenburg Sweden.

The #'s are:

VC 26465 M 1 064968

The VIN Say's it's a 264 with a B27 made in Gothenburg Sweden in 1979 and it is unit #064968. According to Volvo this series started with 062105, and basically my car was the 2,863rd produced.

The VIC is 264 659 3481 31

The VIC says it's a:

260 Series
4 Door

B27 Engine
Fuel Injected (Emission Type)
Catalytic Converter w/O2 Sensor System, Evaporative

Left hand Drive
BW55 Borg Waner Automatic Transmission
GL
with Sunroof

31= California

Ok, so this says a lot! It doesn't have the B27 anymore, and for the life of me I can't figure out which one it has, although I know it's one of the B21's 4 cyl. I'm not sure it has the BW55 either. Someday I'd like to find a nice PRV-6 B27 out of a 1979 264GL like mine. Mine also originally was a California car, pronounced by the 31 in the VIC. It also has the correct silver emissions tag for the California 264GL's and the yellow underhood sticker for the solenid. (For the life of me I can't figure out how this thing works!)

This car has freakin nasty horrible electrical gremlins, epecially when it comes to the rocker switches, behind the dash, console and in the engine compartment. I managed to work out some the dicsonnected things.

Someone thought my car was actually the 1980 GLE, but the tag is atually correct. It's really just a wierd Californa car, whilest it appears to have some of the GLE stuff.

The rear window lifts don't work, there is NO A/C (even though the switch is still there, I'm missing the rheostat for the dash lights dimmer, one of the rear window switches on the e-brake console is broken, the fasten seatbelt lights don't light up in that e-brake console (the wire got cut too short), the tail lights, signals and reverse lamps are all messed up, some work some don't. The open door with key in buzzer sounds like sick (and dying)! The fasten seatbelts lamp doesn't light up in the front and I don't even think it's connected! There are several wires in the engine compartment that appear to go somewhere but don't, whilest everything LOOKS to be connected.

Oh, and while I'm at it, in what order from left to right do these switches go?

Anyone got any IDEA how to identify which B21 I have? There were a few different ones in it's history. I think it's the B21F but not sure. Is there an index to casting #'s and other block codes?

What size, type, color and gauge wires would a person need to construct new ones?

Anyone got the correct 1979 264GL ,B27, Left Hand drive, California w/BW55 wiring and vaccuum diagrams for my car? Anyone care to help me figure out what B21 I have??

HELP!
