AW 70 transmission trouble 200

The transmission in my wife's 240 wagon is starting to go out.I have another
transmission here at the shop that I thought to rebuild.The problem is this trans won't shift until it has warmed up.I bought a rebuild manuel and the kit to rebuild is around $125.00.I would like to know if anybody has had this problem in the trans and what I need to look for when I go to rebuild it.
