1996 960 with SC-815 - FM stations play a few minutes, then drop out 900

On my SC-815 radio/tape/CD (1996 960), the CD player was sticking, mainly in hot weather, so I was looking for a replacement. Before I found one, the FM stations would play not find a station, only static. AM/tape/CD works OK.

Antenna works fine, all connections OK. I could pull the antenna connector from the back of the radio, re-plug, and the FM may or may not work.

I decided to get another SC-815; bought one used. Worked fine for about 2 weeks, then a similar problem occurs. FM will play fine for 3-5 minutes, then starts getting static, then finally drops out. AM/tape/CD still works. Sounds to me like like some connection is heating up, then dieing. But since this is a second radio, seems odd.

Any ideas?

Frank
