window regulator 700 1990

I'm having some problems with the passenger front window. When I lower it about three quarters of the way it would fall out of the tracks. I took the glass out and had the "weather stripping" stuff replaced under the metal bracket on the bottom of the window. That seemed to help but it will not roll up straight. It goes all the way up but thee is a gap in the top corner. It seems like there is some slop in the regulator but I can't tell if it's normal or not. Anyone know how "tight" the regulator linkage should be? Or any other ideas on how to fix this problem? Thanks!!!!
