Automatic Transmission Fluid/Filter 140-160 1975

What kind of tranny fluid do you guys suggest? It's a '75 automatic and my Haynes says to use "Castrol TQF" which not a sole I've talked to can identify let alone pick an alternative.
Similarly, I've been told that there are three different filters available for my model, and I haven't the slightest idea how to determine which I have. Any clairification on that would be helpful.
And lastly, my book says it takes something like two gallons of fluid, which seems like kind of a lot to me. And considering it said I needed six quarts of oil when I only needed three, I am a bit leery that this British Haynes I ended up with is either way off or I am somehow reading it wrong.

So: What fluid? How much? And what's the deal with multiple filters?
