940 or 960: Which One to Keep? 900

I'm looking for your opinion on which of these two 1995 wagons I should keep?

I've owned the (fast and smooth) 960 for 3 years (bought from original owner).
The 940 (slower non-turbo) has been here for two years (clean throughout).
Both cars have about the same mileage of 145K, both are in great condition body and mechanics.

However, these cars act like they are from different planets. The 960 is truly a solid luxury, but mechanically complex ride. By comparison, the 940 behaves much more like a VOLVO in feel and relative simplicity.

I love both of these excellent cars, but can only justify keeping one of them.

Car-for-car, the 960 wins hands-down. BUT, I'm concerned about the long-term cost of the inevitable repairs and replacement parts down the road.

My local indy mechanic leans strongly toward keeping the 940 with its simpler, proven construction. My wife, however (who drives a V40)would rather I keep the 960 because of its speed, smooth ride, not to mention its power seats.

So, based on your experience, which would you opt for keeping?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
