instrument cluster removal 200 1991

I'm trying to remove the instrument cluster from my 1991 244. I have removed and labeled all of the wires except those going to the speedometer. The wire connector to the back of the speedometer seems to have a white plastic collar around it which I assume is there to prevent tampering. What is the best way to remove this?
