Who made the M40/41 120-130

Volvo has made it's own manual transmissions for a long, long time. Even the current manual transmission equipped S60, V70, etc. use Volvo manufactured units. I think that there were also ZF manual transmissions used in a few special situations.

On the other hand, Volvo has always purchased their automatic transmissions. For years they used Borg-Warner units, then went to Aisin-Warner. Later on GM in some vehicles. Today they probably use some Ford units in some vehicles.
