Can anyone tell me the difference between valve and tappet adjustment? I understand that checking the valve clearances means checking the space underneath each cam. So what is tappet adjustment? Is this the same thing? Can it be done just by removing the valve cover or do more engine layers need to be removed? I really would appreciate any help.
