I am not an old hand like some of the guys here - but the first thing for all of us somewhat 'greenhorns' to do is to read the FAQ's. I mess up at times myself and ask a question here when it is right there in the 700-900 FAQ's.

To your question. The first steps for that problem is to clean (or have cleaned) the throttle body & the idle control valve (in the faq's). That with a good tune up usually clears idle probelms up. Beyond that look to a vac problem somewhere.

Wires and relays are improbable here, as they usually relate to start or running issues. Also grounds can be cleaned, and reattached using dielectric grease, but this may be a side issue - just something to so for maintenience.
