700/900 seatbelt question 700

Hi,
I have a 1991 940. I needed to replace the seatbelt so i found one at a junkyard. It truned out the mouth of the seatbelt on the srap was a different model and too big for the clip attached by the seat. I have a different clip that will fit the seatbelt but i don't want to replace that piece without knowing what the wires are attatched to it. I was wondering if anybody knew what these are for and if they would ruin safety of the vehicle in an accident?

Thanks in advance.

brant
