Cranks but doesn't start

My new to me 1990 Bertone 780 with B230 FT with Turbo Plus had been working well. Except for the stall on the way home to Nova Scotia while going around New York City, and a stoppage at speed again coming out of Halifax the other day it has run flawlessly. So after it sat for the night in the yard, it cranked but didn't start. You can hear the electric fuel pump cycling, but when I checked, I had no spark coming from the coil ...so I replaced it and the car immediately started and was running well .... took it out for a number of drives and it worked perfectly. This evening I decided I wanted to go for a drive and jumped in and hit the key ... back to square one ... cranks well but doesn't kick at all. I checked all the fuses and relays under the center console... nothing ... checked the coil connections ... still nothing .... replaced the coil with the original .... still nothing .... jumped the primary side of the coil directly from the + of the battery .... fuel pump cycled all indicaxtor lights came on ... cranked and still nothing..... anyone got any ideas what else to try ??
