A/C trouble shooting 900

My 93 940 has manual climate control A/C, which suddenly stopped working about two weeks after having it re-charged by a reliable shop. The compressor does not engage when I turn it on @ dash control unit. Blower motor runs fine.

According to wiring diagram in green book, voltage should flow from control unit to low pressure switch to high pressure switch to compressor. I'm getting no voltage from red/green wire at low pressure switch. When I apply 12V to low pressure switch, the compressor clutch engages.

MY QUESTION: these tests tell me the control unit is bad. But I wanted to get 2nd opinion of my conclusion from bricksters.
