EMERGENCY!!!! '91 245 auto tranny stuck in Park on upward incline. Help!!!! Cannot get stick to move in Reverse. 200 1991

Hi guys. Please help. I hope this does not mean my tranny is bad. No symptoms of any problems until this happened. My wife took her '91 245 by the fish restaurant to pick up take out and parked on a upward incline and when she left to go she could not get the shifter out of Park and into Reverse. No hint of ANY problems. Fluid is fine. Button moves up and down ok. I tried everything. What gives? We had to leave the car at the restaurant tonight. I was wondering if I should jack up the back end enough to get the wheels off the pavement and see if that does the trick?
If not, what is the problem? Usually there would be some sign of the transmission going out. PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!!!
