Borg-Warner Part Needed - BW Sources Out There? 120-130

I am in need of what is probably a totally obscure part for the Borg-Warner 35 Automatic Transmission in my 1966 122.

In particular, there is an approximately 8" long rod that connects the gear shifter linkage to the transmission itself. The rod has two round 1" holes on each end. Inside each of the holes is a hard rubber bushing, and those bushings hold the rod onto the shifter linkage and the transmission. My hard rubber bushings have deteriorated and fallen out. I've managed to shove the rod back on using plumbing gaskets and held it in place with baling wire, but it's not going to last another 40 years the way I've rigged it.

Knowing that BW35's were used in other American vehicles (I heard they were on Checker cabs, can't verify if that's true or not) I was wondering if anyone had located a source for BW parts, such as the hard rubber bushings I'm looking for. Any ideas?

Thanks!
