86 volvo sunroof 700

I have a manual sunroof. Not sure if someone tried to pull the sunroof up from the outside (suspected), but the right (passenger) side of the sunroof is now misaligned -- meaning that when the sunroof is in the absolute closed position, the rear of it sits about 1/2'' lower in the base than the front of it. I have no trouble opening the sunroof with the crank, nor closing it. However it doesn't seat perfectly. I cranked it all the way to the "rear vent" position and I can see a support brace intact on both sides, but there's not very much clearance to get up in there and see what might be misaligned/broken/etc. Any suggestions on how to diagnose it? I can send pictures of it if that will help.

Thanks.
