89 240 - Rapid Clicking noise from Door locks ??? 200 1989

My 89 240 has just started to have a rapid clicking noise related to the power door locks. It will eventually go away after driving. Occasionally, when I open (or just push lightly on the door) the door I will hear a rapid clicking associated with the power locks. When I turn on the engine, the clicking continues. Evenutally, the clicking stops. Has anyone had this experience? Is it the buttons or the power source to the buttons? Any ideas?
