Aftermarket a/c condenser? 700 1991

I am about to replace my a/c condenser on my 1991 745 turbo. Since the OEM unit costs about $400 I decided to go with the aftermarket version from FCP Groton. Does anyone have any experience with using aftermarket a/c parts? Is this a job a doit yourselfer like me can pull off? (The FAQ make it sound like something I could manage, apart from the recharging of the system.)

Thanks for any advice or help you can give.
