86 Volvo 740 turbo wagon -FPR and IGNITION checks 700

Will you share your experience on the symptoms of a failing fuel pressure regulator;

your experience on the symptoms of a failing distributor, or bad cap and rotor button;

in the mornings I have to crank the car at least six times for it to start. When driving off (after a very cold start) the car hesitates just as it si changing from gear to gear. I noted that the tachometer does not drop when the hesitation occurs. I recently changed the undercarriage fuel filter, a couple of vacuum lines and inspected turbo hoses and found no tears or leaks EXCEPT in the blue hose which leads directly into the turbo housing (which is on order to replace). The tear in that hose appears to be the outer sheathing but does not go all the way through. But it's thin.

Plan on exploring this issue this weekend, and I'd just like to save a little time.

Thanks!
