I'm having a similar problem with a '93 940 (see my post on Wed. July 12). I checked 700/900 FAQ and found that if the steering wheel shakes JUST ONCE when you apply brakes (this is what mine does), worn suspension bushings, ball joints, or tie-rod ends may be the culprit.
