I found that when I did the B16 to B20 swap the clearance was very tight on the starter. In part because the master cylinders are different. I used the starter off a 940 Turbo which is physically much smaller (but more powerful), problem solved. All you need to do is drill out the top threaded hole in the starter motor flange, use the B230 engine bolt for the bottom fixing, the original bolt at the top.
