I did a stupid thing. Help w/ instrument cluster, please! 700 1989

My instrument cluster needed replacedment (no fuel gage, clock not working all else ok). I found one in an 88 760 (mine is an 89).

In swapping it out - there was one connector at the top - the 89 had 4 leads - the 88 replacement three. I spliced the connector from the 88 cluster into my wires, leaving the forth wire that seemed not to match not hooked up. Well - nothing worked.

I wired the original connector back the way it was, and put the old IC back in - now I am worse off than before. No warning lights come on, no turn signal lights - nothing except the SRS light. trbo boost, and speedo. No tach, and no heat gage (that is really important). Oh, car doescrank & run fine.

I checked my fuses. They all seem good. Is there a way to get back where I was. I am due to take a trip tomorrow, and I want to at least make sure she does not run hot.

Thanks for any and all help.
