quickie cap/rotor question 200

hey there,

my 90 240 is/was? - having a very hard start, and hesitating for the first 5 minutes or so but generally only on damp days. when it's damp or rainy and i press the pedal, but get minimal power and often have to drive slowly around the neighbourhood to get her going, before i can just hit the gas and go like normal. it always works, but is kind of annoying.

so, thought it might be just a cap and rotor. got the parts and plopped in the rotor and put the new cap on - the old ones were pretty dark and had some build-up the connections.

anyway, seems to start better, but i'm wondering - should i have "aligned" the rotor or is it okay just to twist in in - so to speak? i also changed the air filter - it was decently clogged.

any other suggestions for licking this chugging for the first 5 in damp weather?

thanks

g
