Sell car to Junkyard?

It is a shame that they might be crushed without removing valuable/hard to find parts but it happens everyday. Our local scrap metal yard is paying $125/ton for cars with all fluids and gases removed. Of course that requires you to be able to deliver them in some way.

Certainly it should not cost you anything to just give them to a junkyard. When I part one out I just stop by the yard and tell them I have one ready to go (many times with the chassis sitting on the ground) and they send their rollback with a winch to take it off of my hands.
