hood adjustment 200

i've seen this on a number of other 240s and now mine has it. This misaligned hood. The gap of the top edge of the hood (closest to the steering wheel) has risen a good inch. The passenger side is fine and flush to the body. This started to slowly happen over the last few months or so, but now its annoying. I've tried to do some logical adjustments to the bolts on the hinges to no avail. Visually, there doesn't seem to be anything broken or out of wack either. Any suggesstions?
