PV Wankel ? 444-544

My son is adapting a Mazda B13 rotary engine for airplane use. With about 150 hp for about 100 lbs in a compact package this set me musing about PV or Amazon application - just musing, not really digging for information or serious planning. When NSU came out with Wankels, way back when, the concept made a lot of sense, but I sort of lost interest because of the problems they were having with them - fuel and oil consumption, failing seals, etc. I understand that Mazda has taken them a long way since then. Anyone here have opinions, comments, information?
