Sell car to Junkyard?

Last week I was quoted about $1 a pound for aluminum at a local scrap yard. On a 240, you could probably get $100 just in Al.

I HATE to see any Volvo go to a junk yard - either it'll be stripped for scrap metal or sold at ridiculously high prices piece by piece to the rest of us who need replacements for hard to find trim and interior parts.

I know not everybody has the space for parts cars, or wants them junking up their driveway or yard, but it still makes me sad to see aging Volvos go to non-Volvo-enthusiasts.

I need to buy some cheap land out west where I can park Volvos that people are getting rid of and let people come pick through them for whatever they might need...
